Check out Pickens Plan (click on the Badge below) for a great solution using Wind and Natural Gas.
Then take action by joining this national network of people working for cleaner, independent energy. Then help expand this network by getting this information out to everyone you know.
I plan on writing more on this once I return from this business trip. It's something we can and need to do now. There are plans to get over 1/2 a million signatures supporting this to the next President and send a loud and clear message.

Hey Sundog, I am open as much to anyone else for alternative energies. And although you in Arizona might not have a LOT of use for Natural Gas to heat in the winter time, up here in the Northern states, whre it gets COLD in the winter, we need Natural Gas, and this guys plan would KILL us. Natural gas prices are on the rise, at least here in the north, and I don't need them any higher then they are now. We already spend well over $100 month to heat our home from Nov. to March, and if it gets REALLY cold in Jan. and Feb. we have seen bills as high as $200. Yes, we keep it cooler too, we have our thermostat set at 68 degrees, which is cold, trust me. Like I said, I am all into alternative forms of energy, but NOT using Natural gas for cars!
I understand your concern. Not matter what direction we go it will cause hardship on some if not many. But we need to start making changes. And soon!
It must be done to reduce our dependence on Foreign oil. The current situation on a global scale for America is not a good one. We are no longer the revered nation. It's time we become leaders in innovation and lead be example.
Read "The Post American World" (book) and you will see what I mean. We need to learn to play on a world stage in a different way. It's not that it is the end of the USA, it is that there is a new economy coming in the form of India, China and countries like Brazil. We can provide solutions and innovation and prosper or continue to fall behind and not.
So yes, it may cost you more or you may need to change the way you heat your home. But in the long run it will be good for you, me, our children and the planet.
Change is the norm, resistance is futile ;)
Yeah, I understand that, but what about all of the UNUSED resources we have in this country? If we tapped Anwar and the coasts, we wouldn't need any foreign oil and then we could leave gas alone. PLUS, we do NOT have half of the natural gas supplies as we do oil in this country, so even if there is MORE natural gas, we would still be getting it from other countries.
Even if there is more Natural gas then oil.
I meant to say the previous statement
Well, this solution, by admittance of Pickens, is only a short term and easy/fast(er) solution. It helps us buy time for longer term solutions. Wind and do a lot and we would have it for a long time. The car fuel solution still remains. I have friend who is testing a hydrogen generator/injector that is working well. I will blog on that when the results are in.
I have an uncle in Brazil who has several BioDiesel stations. He is a professor and helped develop that. I need to catch up with him and get the latest.
Yes, we do have resources here but just continuing to use oil is not good. Again we need to lead by example. It's going to take the will of the people to get it done, not the will of corporations.
I certainly don't have all the solutions nor do I clearly understand the consequences of all actions. It will sort itself out and I will become wiser with time...
