Magnets Repel Sharks...

A surfers dream, complete shark protection!

SharkDefense has been working on the idea for a while now.

But wait, there is a catch (no pun intended):

"Divers and swimmers may thrill to the idea of shark safeguards. However, before you rush out to buy neodymium magnets to create your own shark-repelling gear, Herrmann cautions that the magnets appear to have an effective range of only 10 inches. Also, you'd need to align the magnetic poles outward and keep the magnets from clicking together, and once you had the necessary 10 to 20 pounds of magnets all over your body, you'd sink. So, at a cost of about $5 a magnet, you could theoretically turn yourself into a $400 shark-safe anchor at the bottom of the sea."

Maybe magnetic fences around popular surfing and swimming spots. Yeah, the government will fund that ;-)

Save Internet Radio - Boycott on May 15th

The future of Internet radio is in immediate danger. Royalty rates for webcasters have been drastically increased by a recent ruling and are due to go into effect on July 15 (retroactive to Jan 1, 2006!).

If the increased rates remain unchanged, the majority of webcasters will go bankrupt and silent on this date. Internet radio needs your help! H.R. 2060, The Internet Radio Equality Act was introduced by Representatives Jay Inslee (D-WA) and Donald Manzullo (R-IL ) to save the Internet radio industry.
iRadio
Only 66 days left until much of the internet stations could be silent. Save Internet Radio dot Org

Please call your congressperson to ask them to co-sponsor H.R. 2060 by CLICKING HERE
